Mullingar T.D.A is a Community based organisation which was established in 1986 by a local committee with the assistance of Anco

Bishop Michael Smith offered St Marys Hall which is owned by the parish as premises for the CTC and Westmeath Co Council in conjunction with Anco carried out refurbishment of the building.






Thirty Learners commenced training in 1986. In 1988 Minister for Labour Bertie Ahearn officially opened the Centre.

In 1994 the centre became one of the first official First Providers of NCVA training and certification in the country. In 1996 Mullingar Chamber of Commerce awarded the centre its Civic Endeavour Award, and in 2008 the centre was awarded an All Ireland Pride of Place Award. In 1999 the centre received a National Millennium Award.




Learners progress to further training and education establishments, to work experience or on to a job or Apprenticeship. RTE’s Nationwide
Programme have filmed in the centre, today Mullingar TDA is a thriving 60 place training centre offering a two year programme of training in the
following areas Apprenticeship Ready, Music, Catering, Sport and Fitness, Information Technology and Office Skills, and Hairdressing
